Making Cute Fall Cards with your Cricut - Mixing it up with materials to make a Jack Skellington card
Excited to make a fun card for a Jack Skellington fan using three colors of vinyl and black paper and white gel pel. Jack Skellington, the "You are my favorite" saying and the "Nightmare" image were cut out of white, black, and orange vinyl. Vinyl worked well for this because the it made some the cuts such as those on Jack's face and the extended parts and curls on the nightmare cleaner and easier to adhere together since the vinyl is already sticky. This was made to work on a 5x7 card so the individual images were not so tiny that they would be extra hard to work with.
For the background, I used thin black kraft wrapping paper and drew squiggly lines to try to mimic the fabric of Jack's suit. I thought the thin paper gave the feeling of fabric but any black paper would work as a background.
The difference between the paper background and the shiny vinyl made Jack and the text really pop and really did make the card faster to put together. This mix of materials is not something I do often but it was great for this project. Do you mix paper and vinyl in your projects?
Do you know a Nightmare Before Christmas fan that would like this card? If you are interested in making one of your own, I have these elements set up on Design Space. The licensed images are able to be purchased on Cricut Design Space and the font is free for Cricut Access members.
You can check out the project and get the images on Cricut Design Space through my post in the community section:
