Overdue post of cardmaking adventures and reminder how I need to work on more cards

I have been so busy lately that I rarely get to play with my crafting supplies or create much.

However, there was an opportunity thanks to a card drive hosted by my friend, and Instagram cardmaking genius, KellySantiDesigns. Her son had come up with a project to donate cards to a local nursing home and I was able to create a few cards to contribute.

It was such a great feeling to be able to create again and know that my work was going to a great place where they would bring joy to people. After all, the reason so many of us make things is not only the joy that it brings us but to share a good feeling with others.

I used supplies that I had not touched in a while or had built up in my stash but had never used at all. So great to shop the stash! I am sharing two particular cards and the supplies to show how different supplies can change the look of the cards in case it inspires you to play with your supplies.

These cute cards featuring astronaut kids, rockets, and even an astronaut pup were made using MFT Stamps Best friends in the Universe set from 2020 and creating space backgrounds using Distress Inks. From looking at the two cards you can see how the different supplies make the cards have a different look. The top card was made using Distress Oxide inks for the background, splatters of white glitter ink and coloring in the stamps with alcohol markers. The bottom card's background was made using the original Distress inks and a white gel pen for stars and the stamps were colored using color pencils. Which do you like better?

Will you be using any of those supplies on your next project?
